Discover Freemasonry

Welcome to the administration website for the Provincial Grand Lodge of Derbyshire Freemasons. This site has been developed to provide members with useful information about Lodges, Lodge Meetings, Photographs, the complete Blue Book list of members, Events (present and past) – even professionally recorded Masonic music which can be downloaded and used when an Organist isn’t available.

The resources on this website are restricted to members and a password is required to access them. This is because the information is only of interest to members and is of no relevance to the public.

The format of this website is expandable so if you have any suggestions that you think would improve the site or you have anything you would like to appear, please e-mail the Provincial office.

Lastly, please do visit the site regularly – the content will be changing often!

2018 was a busy year for Derbyshire Freemasons. It marked the 100th year anniversary of Armistice day - the day that the guns fell silent and World War One effectively came to an end. It also marked the 75th anniversary of " Operation Chastise " well known as the Dambusters raid. Derbyshire Freemasons marked these important events by supporting air cadet corps throughout the Province and were delighted and honoured by the presence of George " Johnny " Johnson, the last surviving British air crew from the famous raid. A new war memorial was unveiled at the Grange in Derby to replace the one lost in the fire there some years ago. 2019 saw many more events including the community awards ceremony in Derby and a special awards ceremony to the Sea Cadets in the Derbyshire area.

We now look forward to 2020 and already have many events planned:

Lancaster Bomber Flyover marks support initiative for Derbyshire ATC's
The air training corps is a national organisation helping young people to develop life skills in a safe and structured environment. They promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the Royal Air Force. Providing training which will be useful in the services and civilian life, they encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship. Above all, the trainees have fun!

2018 marks the centenary of the formation of the RAF and in recognition of this the Provincial Grand Lodge of Derbyshire Freemasons will be making a financial award to no less than fifteen Derbyshire ATC units at a ceremony at their Derbyshire headquarters on the 11th October. It is hoped that this will help the ATC continue their good work.

The guest of honour will be Sq. Ldr. Johnny Johnson, the only remaining British member of 617 squadron's Dambuster raids.

On Sunday September 9th, the BBMF agreed to do a flyover as a prelude to this event at the Crich Stand Memorial and at 2:15pm exactly the only flying Lancaster bomber in the UK not only flew over but performed a circuit. Members of Derbyshire Freemasons came to watch, along with staff and trainees of the ATC.
